Here's To a Great Daddy!

I have to say that my girls have the best dad there is. Bryan adored Kate like no other. She was his world and he did anything and everything for her. It was so hard for him to make it on time for work because his favorite thing was playing with Kate in the mornings. He loved it when Kate would reach for his mouth. This picture is one of my very favorites of the two of them:Bryan was always so proud to be Kate's dad. He loved to have "Daddy/Daughter" nights (that's what he called it). Basically that consisted of taking her to Lowes. I didn't know that Kate had so many friends that worked there, until I went there with the both of them and everyone knew Bryan and Kate by name. One of my favorite memories was last August I had gone to a wedding reception with my mom, and Bryan decided to have a "Daddy/Daughter night with Kate. When I got home Bryan had Kate dressed in this: ...I mean I probably wouldn't have chosen this ensemble, but he was very proud of his choice. The best part was that Kate's shirt was on backwards. His response, "all of my shirts button in front...." CLASSIC!!

Bryan has always been devoted to making sure Kate had the best. He kept up on all the latest and greatest trying to help Kate's growth and development. One day I got a call from him and he had decided to go to Babies-R-Us on his lunch break. He had told me about this "AWESOME" device that he thought Kate would love. Sure enough, he showed up at home after work with this jumper:With the great amount of stress and hardships that we have endured the past 23-months, I have never once heard Bryan complain. When Kate was hospitalized, he couldn't leave work fast enough to drive to the hospital to be with Kate.

His girls mean EVERYTHING to him and Kate and Mia are so lucky to have him as their Daddy. Here's to making new memories!

Hi Marcae! I must admit, I've been checking on you through your blogs for sometime, and most of the time have been bawling so bad, I can't even think, much less leave you a comment. I hope you know and truly understand how many people you have touched through your experiences, and I admire you for your positive outlook on everything. I hope you don't mind, I have used your experience as a teaching tool for Abby, as yet another example of faith in forever families. Take care :D

Loved seeing all the pictures of Kate with her Dad. So adorable how she reached for his mouth! That simple little interaction brings me so much joy and melts my heart.

I'm so grateful that you have Bryan. (And I know he is grateful to have you too)
It's really neat to see the bond between fathers and daughters!
I feel so sorry to have missed the farewell for Jeff. Our lives are somewhat crazy right now and we are not able to travel too far from home. Please let him know we are thinking about him and wish him the best of luck!
Love, Marie

What a beautiful tribute. I loved reading through all of your sweet memories with Daddy and Kate... and how can you not look at that picture of Kate in the outfit daddy dressed her in, and not smile at that memory? I love it... What a wonderful daddy!

That was a classic outfit. I am thinking it is genetic in the Rich family, I know someone else who would do the same thing!

I couldn't but have tears in my eyes when reading your post. I too am married to my best friend and he was an incredible daddy to our daughter, who passed away from complex CHD's when she was 4 1/2 months old back in 2000. She was our first and since then we have been blessed with two healthy boys. So I often tease that I have been blessed with an Angel and two Devils. . .of course all in good fun.
