Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!!!

I feel like I have been a little spoiled the last 2 weekends. I must say that it is so refreshing to be able to get together with my girlfriends. As previously mentioned, my friend Jalene is getting married next month so we got together last weekend and celebrated her engagement. It's so fun being able to talk, laugh, eat and just unwind from our day-to-day duties.

This past weekend was a first. My college roommates (from my senior year at SUU) had a little get-away in St. George. This is the first time that we have all been together since I graduated (7....GASP.....years ago). The highlight of the trip was going to Thriller at Tuachan. If you haven't been before, it is a MUST. This is the 3rd time I have been and it keeps getting better and better.

Be AFRAID....Be VERY, VERY AFRAID!!!!

As much fun as I had, I must admit that it was hard leaving Mia for that long. I wanted to post this picture of her. When Bryan picked me up yesterday, his first comment was......"There are a lot of things I can do, and curlers aren't one of them, so this is how Mia went to church..."! What a good sport Bryan is. I actually kind of like the natural look :)

Bryan's disclaimer....."I put a headband, bow and a really cute dress on her. Who needs curlers anyway." Case closed.

Announcing the arrival of Will.....

On Monday the newest member of our family arrived, Will Roper. This is the 4th of my older brother, Greg and his wife SuSan. Gavin (the proud big brother) made it known they they already had a "Will (wheel)" on their car....he is too funny! We are so excited to have him in our family, especially Mia.....she couldn't keep her hands off of him.
Look at all that hair!!!
Drew couldn't be happier to have a new little brother.

Pumpkins here. Pumpkins there. Pumpkins everywhere!

Last night we made a trip down to Santaquin to Rowley's South Ridge Farms to check out the many, many pumpkin patches. If you haven't been to Rowley's.....it is a must. Our friend's Lacey & Nate have been going for years we were excited to get in on the tradition.

Highlights of the Farm:
*Taking a hay wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch (the weather was perfect....we didn't even need our jackets....imagine that)

*Picking out our perfect pumpkins (trust me....we had PLENTY to choose from)

*Eating yummy pumpkin ice cream

*Cider tasking (Good....but not as good as Grandpa Roper's)
*Having Nate finagle our way on to the hay wagon (it's a long story).....Thanks Nate!

Those are some mighty fine looking pumpkins!!!

My Favorite Things....

My Favorite Sweater
When I found out I was expecting Kate I was ecstatic!!! I was absolutely beside myself and felt like I just needed to buy something for the future little Rosenvall. Not yet knowing the sex of the baby, I strolled into Gymboree in search of the perfect item. So of course, I had to buy something for a little boy and something for a little girl. After a few minutes of looking, I set my eyes on the most precious little "bunny" sweater which I immediately fell in love with. I had a feeling that this one was going to be a boy, but secretively wanted a little girl. I found a sweater just as cute for a little boy (it was brown with a little raccoon on it) and away I went. Once I found out I was having a little girl....the raccoon sweater happily went to our little neighbor Mason, who was born 3 months before Kate.
I couldn't wait for the day Kate could fit into this little sweater. Finally, in October she was big enough to wear it. The poor thing wore it everywhere....Let's just say she got good use out of it.
When Kate passed away and knowing another little girl was on the way, I wasn't sure if I would be able to pass down her clothes. I felt like it would be way too emotional. However, I chose not to box everything up and put it away for good. I have found so much comfort having Mia wear Kate's clothes and feel that there are so many good memories with each little outfit.

My Favorite Accessory
"Snuggle Legs"

Okay, these are Fabulous!!! Bryan works with a guy who both he and his wife sell these cute leg warmers for tots....Snuggle Legs. They are a perfect alternative to tights because they cover the entire leg without the hassle of dealing the monotony of tights during diaper changes......and to top it off.....they are super cute. They have a kiosk in the University Mall by Gymboree where you can purchase them and other fun baby and tot accessories. They come in all different colors and patterns. They even have some for boys. Check out the website: http://www.snugglelegs.com/.

My Favorite Peeps

I had to sneak a shot of this. Yesterday I went downstairs to find Bryan and Mia watching Baby Einstein together. Who would've thought it could be so mesmerizing (ex. see Bryan's face).

This one is a cinch. You just go to the 4th picture folder and get your 4th picture and tag four friends. This picture was taken last year at Bryan's EMBA graduation. I wasn't able to attend because Kate had surgery that day. Bryan didn't want to go, but he had worked so hard for 2 years and I thought he deserved the honor. Way to go Babe!

6 quirky things about me and then tag 6 people.
1. I am a treat-aholic. I Love candy. I will buy Halloween candy when it first comes out convincing myself that it will last until Halloween, but it never does and I end up having to buy more.
2. I have a nervous habit of picking at my nails....actually just one nail. Instead of picking at all my nails I just pick at my left thumb, also known as "The Nub." It's so ugly that I usually have it covered up with a band-aid.
3. I am a total home body except for when I have to be home alone. Any time Bryan is out of town for work, I high tail it down to my parents house.
4. I sleep with a heating pad (even during the summer). I hate being cold.
5. I am an avid GSN (Game Show Network) watcher. I love them all....Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right, Let's make a Deal, etc.
6. Call me a Scrooge, but I refuse to start decorating my house for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people start putting up their Christmas decorations before Halloween is even over. Also, I have to have all my decorations taken down before New Year's Eve.
I tag Treo, Gina, Kenz, Debra, Lindsey, and Stacy (for both)

A Little R & R

So, we decided to take a little mini vacay this weekend....and what a perfect weekend it was. We stayed at the Zermatt Resort and Spa in Midway (Thanks K & M). We didn't realize that the package we had was the "Romance" package. So, we were greeted with these chocolate covered strawberries and sparking apple cider! While Bryan was at the priesthood session of conference, we were pleasantly surprise to have turn down service where they showered our bed with rose petals. How romantic :) I felt like we were treated like royalty! I don't know how romantic it can actually be with a 5-month-old, but needless to say....she kept us well entertained. On our way home this morning, we drove from Midway to Cascade Springs and then down the Alpine Loop (possibly my most favorite drive). It was beautiful. I couldn't believe the contrast of the leaves against the snow on Timp. It was breathtaking!

All About Mia....

I have to say that Mia is at the funnest age right now (5-months). She has so much personality and she has me constantly laughing (except for when she wakes up 5 times during the night....yes I said 5 times.....ahhh). I think she is starting to teeth, so she has been a little on the grumpy side lately.

We are so glad that Grandma and Grandpa Great moved back from Colorado. Mia just adores her Grandpa Great

We celebrated Gavin's 5th birthday while we were down in Fillmore. He cracks me up. Instead of a cake this year, he told him mom he just wanted donuts and popsicles. There you have it.

Mia had too much fun playing in the wrapping paper!
