12 Half Marathons in 12 Months

So instead of the same ol' New Year's Resolutions I try and make every year, you know the "lay of the candy, stop drinking Diet Coke, quit biting my fingernails" resolutions (don't get me wrong.....I tried them and failed miserably the first day of the year)??? Well, This year I came up with some more realistic goals.....oh like: run 12 half-marathons in 12 months. You heard me right. And yes, I have the first one under my belt. Last weekend Bryan and I spent the weekend in St. George and I ran the Painter's Half Marathon. Because I don't run in the cold and I do all of my training (during the Winter) on a treadmill I wasn't prepared for the freezing cold temperature when we started nor the many unexpected hills. But I finished and that's all that matters. If anyone else made a "12 half marathons in 12 months" resolution.....I would love a running partner :)

Before......
(Me & my bro, Greg)
......After
I've never been so excited to see the finish line.

My bestest friend, Treo, and her darling baby Jaylee there to cheer me on.

Marc you amaze me! I did 2 marathons yesterday, not to brag or anything...
Oh wait, I think I was panting from walking up the stairs.

Can I just say you are awesome! My goal for this year is to run a 5k this spring and I thought that was good. Maybe I can re-adjust that. This is the first time I have made a serious effort to run since highschool.
When it gets warm out we should run together...I don't run in the cold either. Maybe someday I can do a half marathon too.

Marcae, you are crazy awesome for having such an ambitious goal, and it sounds realistic that you'll meet it. Good luck! =D

Marc! You are so awesome!!

This is really weird, my goal is similar to yours... I'm trying to shower 12 times in 12 months. And also change out of the same clothes more than once a week.

Seriously, though, congratulations--1 down, 11 to go!! Woo hoo!

That is such an awesome goal. Good luck! One day I'm gonna run a 1/2 marathon. Until then, I'll watch everyone around me make that accomplishment. Hey - you know that one race you ran where there's a bunch of people and you all run a few times over a lot of miles? How does someone get involved in that? & approximately how far do you run in that race?

Marcae, AWESOME goal!!! If you run any in our neck of the wood I would love to run with you. I would love to be your running partner but my growing belly would not let me last the full 12 atleast not running the whole way. I am doing an all womens half in May, it should be interesting at 31 weeks pregnant!

How is it that you look like a model after running 13 miles? Excuse me. 13.1. I have to correct people sometimes because the .1 is sometimes the worst :) You are simply OUT OF CONTROL. I'm thinking of doing a half in April up here in Wenatch and would love for you to join me? Takers? Anyone? But back to your beauty. Geez. You look as fresh as ever-- I always have the sweet salt remains on my face from the 2 hours of sweat!

Oh and how exactly do you go about racing in the hot summer months? I would love to pick your brain on this subject. And yes. I'm with you on the running partner. I'm fresh out as well.

That is the most fantastic resolution I have ever heard of. Someday I will steal that resolution. Someday...
