It's hard for me to believe that we have celebrated 4 of Kate's birthdays without her. Over the past 4 years we have celebrated her birthday in various ways. One thing that I love to do is make a birthday cake. There's something therapeutic about focusing on something specific that day. Last year was a polka dot cake, the year before I did a butterfly cake and the year before that I did a ladybug cake. This year I let Mia choose what kind of cake she would want for her big sister and she told me "a Hello Kitty cake." So, Hello Kitty it was.
Last year we let off balloons at the beach; one balloon representing each year. It's hard for me to believe that she would've turned 5-years-old this year. We will be making this an annual tradition as it is something very sweet and special to us.
Happy Birthday sweet Kater Bugs. You are missed each and every day!
We love you!!!

Oh, I'm so glad you had a fun celebration! The cake looked darling. We celebrated our Lily's 4th birthday on the same day. I let the kids do the planning, and they love it. This year, they started planning in advance, and were really excited about everything. I felt like I really kept it together, until the following day in Primary. I'm the chorister, and I had to lead the birthday song for a 4 year old girl who'd just had a birthday, too. That was hard. Anywho, thanks for sharing your celebration!
Happy Birthday sweet Kate! You are remembered and loved by so many of us.
Happy Birthday sweet Kate! What an amazing little gal you are! And what a cute cake!
Happy Birthday sweet Kate! What a cute cake and a great way to celebrate. Mia knew just what Kate would have wanted and Mommy did such a great job.
