Hood to Coast 2008
After 29 hours, 11 minutes and 45 seconds we finished and what an experience it was. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to do this race. If asked if I would do it again.....in a heartbeat!!! I can only hope I get another opportunity.
L. to R. Thomas, Mike, Steph, Kristin, me & Jeremy
"Our Ride"....Van #1
Each team comes up with a name, and "Almost There" was ours. I won't mention what some of the other team's names were....let's just say that ours was more on the conservative side.
A quick pass off by Thomas & Kristin
Still smiling going on very little sleep!
The big finish!
Are we excited to be done or what??
This gives you just a glimpse of what the finish line was like. It was crazy, but absolutely beautiful! Imagine 12,000 runners plus, who know how many spectators. There was a live band, food and FUN!!!
The best part was seeing Bryan and Mia at the finish line. Bryan is so supportive of all the crazy things I do and I couldn't ask for a better husband. He and Mia had a great time together.Do we look tough or what???
With 1,000 teams and 12,000 runners it was by pure coincidence that I ran into one of my high school friends, Suzanne. It was so much fun seeing her.
I had to take a picture of my poor swollen, blistered foot. I think that is the biggest blister I have ever seen!!
After the race, Bryan and I decided to stay on the coast in a little town called Cannon Beach. I pretty much think I need to live here. We stayed in this cute little bungalow.

Amazing!
You are my hero. You are not joking about the blister, it is huge. Sorry you had to experience that, but it looks like it was worth it.
I am so proud of you.
Quick question...any investments along the way?
I was going to say the same thing as katie "amazing"!
I love the picture of your blister - if I learned anything through Mike's marathon running it was that it definately is NOT pretty! With that said, you and the other girls look awfully good (and buff)! Way to go!
Hey my love. It looks like you had so much fun. I honestly wish I wanted to do something like that but the treadmill is the only thing that will allow me to run on it and the only thing I like to runn on. Call me crazy I know. It looks like it was a good getaway and you and your team did awesome. I'm proud of you.
I Love you your BFF :)
Marcae, I am so jealous! It looks like you had a blast. It is one of those experiences that can be painful while you are doing it, but when you look back it is always worth it!! You are awesome. Keep on running. That is a pretty impressive blister. -debra
That's awesome...you're awesome. I can only hope to be able to do that without dying in the first 10 minutes! Looks like a painful blister.

Seriously I have heard and talked to people involved in the Relay runs and all I can say is that I think you are so awesome! Honestly, I am still on those baby 5ks and I look up to for being so dang fabulous!
You go girl and keep your feet up and let that blister pop! Nasty!lol
You are awesome! You always look beautiful in all of your race pictures. I have started doing some races too. I don't ever post my pictures though, because I still have the "I am going to die, look."

And if you do end up moving there, can we come visit?
That looks like my kind of place!
I'm so stinkin' jealous you got to go to Oregon (one of my favorite places in the whole world!) It really is such a beautiful state. Cannon Beach is gorgeous but my favorite is Bandon. Sorry you had to have such a nasty blister to take away from your good time. But it looks like you had a blast anyway! WAY TO GO!!!!
Congrats! What a woman! That looks like so much fun, and so pretty there. I love the Oregon Coast and can't wait till I can go back. Good job!

Ouch, Ouch & Ouch to the blister...but congrats on the AwEsOmE accomplishment. You are amazing!!!
I would love to start running together once a week. It would be fun to mix it up. That looked like such a party at the end. Once again you amaze me!
You did it! I was wondering when your big race was---wooohoo you finished it! I can't believe you would do it again in a heart beat even after that huge blister! What a tough girl----glad you guys got to stay and enjoy while you were there too---fun, fun, fun!
WOW - I'm so impressed!! It looks like you had a major accomplishment and a great time doing it. I can't believe how big that blister is - ouch!
Oh my FUN! I was wondering if you had done that yet! Go you! I bet that was such a fun experience:) I've been thinking about you guys a ton lately. I miss ya like crazy. Its been too long. We need to get together. I know this is so not fun but I might have to take you shopping with me for car seats. Its totally silly but i'm afraid I'm going to buy the wrong kind. Anyway... Take care! give your baby doll loves for me!
